Taiho Pharmaceutical has four major production bases, located in Okayama, Saitama, Inuyama, and Tokushima, which is its main plant. These plants manufacture prescription drugs and OTC products under the company’s strict quality control standards. The production of anticancer agents, in particular, is carried out in a dedicated area that is kept closed. All of the plants strictly adhere to good manufacturing practice (GMP). On top of this, the Tokushima and Saitama plants have passed US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) inspection, and the Tokushima Plant has also passed inspection by European Union (EU) regulatory authorities. By passing these rigorous hurdles, the company’s production plants have met international standards. What is more, the company is giving priority to environment protection as a good corporate citizen; all its plants have obtained ISO 14001 certification, the international standard for environmental management.

The Tokushima Plant consists of 10 manufacturing facilities. It manufactures pharmaceuticals and quasidrugs as tablets, capsules, injections, drinks, and a variety of other formulations.

The Okayama Plant manufactures the Tiovita series.

The Saitama Plant manufactures the active ingredients for the bulk drugs IPD and TS-1 Capsule.

The Inuyama Plant mainly manufactures crude drugs for the Harncare line of incontinence products.
