The Oncology Medical Affairs Division brings together Taiho Pharmaceutical's experience in the field of oncology, especially in cancer chemotherapy, and leverages it to develop safer, more efficacious drugs. As a drug goes into actual use after it is approved, useful information starts to accumulate in amounts greatly exceeding that available at the stage of trials. At this point, researchers consider how a drug can be used even more safely and how it can be improved to make it easier to use. The answers are based on large amounts of information that look at what happens when a certain drug is used together with another one, what administration schedules are most effective with the smallest side effects, and how any side effects that do appear can be dealt with.
